A thermal charger will charge the cells in Cyclops, so in theory with a proper heat source it would work to use the thermal reactor to charge a lot of power cells simultaneously (6 in Cyclops, 2 in a vehicle, 2 in each power cell charger).

For either PRAWN or Seamoth, put a full power cell in right before you dock to similarly stop it drawing juice from the Cyclops. if you’ve been on a long excursion in your PRAWN, remove the flatter of its two power cells before you dock it as they will charge from the Cyclops.use any fabricators onboard only when you really need to, if it can wait until you’re in a base, it waits. No chargers in the cyclops carry spare batts instead.

Use shields for shortest possible period take engines offline at the first sign of trouble then sit and chill while you wait for ‘trouble’ to get bored and go away. The yellow sand of the Purple Vents biome makes it easier to spot the silver-grey Lithium. You do not need to go very deep to find Lithium, and you don't really need a Mineral Scanner. There are loads of chunks around the Purple Vents biome, and you can fill your inventory within 10 or 15 minutes. Lithium is found just lying around on the seafloor. This should also give you the opportunity to escape if you do bump into either the Leviathan Chelicerate or a Cryptosuchus. Swimming Fins or the Seaglider are good choices for navigating the seafloor at speed. You will not be venturing any deeper than 100 meters while searching for Lithium, which means the Rebreather and High Capacity O2 tank are not necessary.

The Afterburner boost upgrade for the Seatruck is useful, but you do need Lithium to craft it. Seatruck - Because of the multiple Cryptosuchus (and the Chelicerate that roams the North-Eastern corner of the Purple Vents biome), a Seatruck is your primary form of defense and escape.

Here's what you should have before making the journey: RELATED: Subnautica: Below Zero - Where To Find Nickel Ore These provide light when it's dark, so you can make this journey during the night. This biome is pretty obvious once you're there - there are multiple vents on the floor that spew purple liquid. Go past the Thermal Spires biome and you'll reach the Purple Vents. To get there, you need to head South-South East through the Thermal Spires biome.Īlong the way, you'll see several Cryptosuchus - which can attack your Seatruck - and are best avoided by staying close to the seafloor. The Purple Vents biome is located around 700 meters from your Drop Pod location. The best place to find loads of Lithium is the Purple Vents biome. You can always set up a forward base close to the Purple Vents biome to make collecting Lithium a bit easier. Eventually, you will need a lot to complete all your building projects, even if you're not going for a megabase. This is why it's a good idea to start stockpiling Lithium. Not only will you need it to build the Large Room, but it's also used to build things like the Power Cell Charger and the Dome Roof for the Multipurpose Room.

Lithium is also a crucial crafting material for loads of different building modules.
